A significant portion of the descriptions, ratings, recommendations, and categorizations are hand-written and curated by the LAZYAPP team. We try to add personality and context beyond raw specs.

The community-maintained Emulation Handhelds Specifications Spreadsheet (open to edits) — a long-running crowd-sourced reference for device specs, emulation performance, and compatibility across hundreds of handheld devices. One of the most comprehensive resources in the scene.
